What is the difference between an APP and a MOBILE SITE?

An App is a specific application or program that is meant to run on a “smart phone” platform, such as the apple iPhone, Droid or other smart phones. It is, in essence, a “program” with certain functions that go beyond that of a normal web site.

A Mobile Site on the other hand, is viewable on all smart phones, or phones that have browser capabilities and can communicate with the internet. It is important to note that Mobile Sites will be also found by search engines and are accessible to most of the online community, while an App will not appear in searches. It must first be downloaded and opened up to function.

Does my business need an App or a Mobile Site?
